Shequan "Joaquin" Granger

Shequan “Joaquin” Granger is a senior and a youth leader at the Social Justice Learning Institute and Augustus F. Hawkins High School. Over the last three years, Shequan has participated in the full both of our youth programming as an Urban Health Fellow, a student leader in the Black Male Youth Academy, and a youth leader in the Brothers, Sons, Selves Coalition. Shequan has been a central organizer and activist on his campus, organizing and leading demonstrations against deportations and the criminalization of youth. Shequan has spent countless hours galvanizing his peers on social justice issues, and has dedicated his future to social change. When he enrolls in college, Shequan would like to major either in liberal studies or theater arts in college, and he enjoys hip-hop dance.
