This gathering convened by California Community Foundation, Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, Southern California Grantmakers, & Youth Philanthropy Connect, was designed to develop, enhance, and catalyze youth & next gen philanthropy in our region and among participants. Attendees ranged greatly in experience, from those already deeply engaged in grantmaking to those just looking to get started! YPC was excited to provide this event for participants to connect, share experiences, and learn together!

Social Justice Learning Institute
Amir Casimir is a freshman and youth leader at Inglewood High School and the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), both based in Inglewood. Amir began his interest in social justice as an Urban Health Fellow at SJLI, where he learned about allied health fields and how to help build healthy communities using community organizing and advocacy strategies. Amir is a youth leader in the Brothers Sons Selves coalition, a coalition of 10 community based organizations across LA County to end the criminalization of boys and men of color, and he has testified on behalf his community in Sacramento and across the state. Amir has also worked with the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color, and he has been outspoken about gentrification in his community. In his spare time, Amir enjoys recreational skateboarding, building models, and working out.
